So, after noticing this common trend, I decided to conduct a little bit of an experiment over the last several months. Every morning when going into work, I drive in what Californians consider “the fast lane” (Not really the case in Texas) at speed limit. Half the time people will speed around me, but half the time they stick right behind me. I do this for several miles, then, I will change lanes when there is significant open space in front of me. Every single time, 100% of the time, the person directly behind me speeds up 10mph immediately and zooms on past. I continue on at speed limit. What’s the point you ask? I don’t know, it’s just an observation and test I decided to do. Think about it, every single time someone was forced to remain at speed limit, then “released”, they ALWAYS increased speed by approximately 10mph (or enough to pass me quickly and continue on). Interesting, the way people think… OK, it’s a Friday post, what do you expect, this blog is free!
